January 2008 - Joinery factory "Cafe" official opening
On Wednesday 23rd January 2008 the new Joinery factory "Cafe" and amenities were opened by Ernie Meneguzzo. As the longest standing employee on-site, Ernie, who started with Gibsons in 1965, had the honours of cutting the ribbon to declare the new facilities “Open”.
With a first-rate cafe-style lunch room and training room, a first-aid room, locker room and toilet facilities, these improvements at the joinery factory are the first stage of a plan to increase the factory's capacity, to improve workflow on the factory floor and to improve amenities for the growing joinery team.
Interestingly, the new facilities occupy the area which had previously housed the Gibson Group’s head office from the late 1970's until 2005.
"Well done" to the Gibson team who took-on, designed and managed this project on top of their busy client workload. Thanks in particular to Alan Perkins, Ian Skinner and their teams for their work over the Christmas period.
